Pupil ownership is at the heart of our educational philosophy and The Assam Valley School provides outcome based quality education. Primary and Junior School provide a loving, caring atmosphere, together with quality transaction and hands-on experience. This ethos is sustained through Middle, Secondary and Senior Secondary School, where academic excellence is emphasized, to culminate in strong board results for Classes 10 and 12. Boys and girls work and learn together in a disciplined environment. We strive to achieve standards of academic achievement equivalent to or surpassing the best public schools in India - strong board results and placements testify to the success of our academic programs. We strive for, ‘not what teachers plan to teach but what teachers want students to learn’. We respect, understand and honour today’s learner.

‘Parent–Teacher Meetings’ are held to synergize the strengths of both Parents and Teachers. We take every possible opportunity to regularly interact in informal situations, so that the AVS becomes a harmonious extension of family and society at large.

Besides the ICSE/ISC curriculum which is pursued at The Assam Valley School, we keep abreast of developments worldwide and are steadily working to add international curricula, like the International Baccalaureate, which offers a more ‘learning based methodology’ and stresses strong values and an academic environment.
