The Careers Department of The Assam Valley School successfully organized an international student exchange program with Rydings College, Zimbabwe hosting six students and one teacher from 20th August to 2nd September, 2025.
Rydings College students participated in Srijanyam – the Art and CDT Festival of AVS. This marked the first time in AVS history that an international school took part in the festival enthusiastically engaging in pottery, sculptures and needlework.
Beyond the festival, they engaged in a variety of activities, including learning Assamese folk dance, practising basic language skills, visiting local markets and experimenting with culinary traditions. They also took part in hands-on sessions such as “Everyday Chemistry,” which further enriched their stay.
This was a truly rewarding experience for AVS marking a beginning in building global citizenship and cultural learning.
