On 19th May 2026, The Assam Valley School proudly conducted the prestigious Headmaster’s Gold Medal Debate 2026. The motion for the debate was: “This House believes that justice is more important than mercy.”

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of Classes IX ,XI, and XII who presented well-researched and thought-provoking arguments. The debate reflected perspectives drawn from diverse disciplines including Political Science, Legal Studies, and Literature, making the discussion intellectually enriching and engaging.

The event was adjudicated by esteemed judges, Mr. Leslie Watts and Ms. Rachika Saraf, a Chartered Accountant as well as a qualified IAS officer, and Mr. Manish Pratim Dutta, an MBA student whose insights added great value to the occasion.

Congratulations to Miss Kohona Kakoty of Class XI Science for being awarded the Headmaster’s Gold Medal for the year 2026.
