The Assam Valley School successfully hosted the 5th BMK Memorial All India Individual Inter School FIDE Rapid Rating Chess Tournament 2026 from 13–15 July 2026, bringing together talented young chess players from 52 schools across Assam and various parts of India.

Organised under the aegis of FIDE, the All India Chess Federation (AICF), the All Assam Chess Association, and the Sonitpur District Chess Association, the tournament featured nine competitive rounds that showcased exceptional strategic thinking, discipline, and sportsmanship.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and a high standard of competition, providing young players with an excellent platform to demonstrate their skills while fostering camaraderie and a shared passion for the game.
