The Assam Valley School successfully hosted the 6th Edition of The Assam Valley School Model United Nations (AVSMUN) 2026 from 17–19 July 2026, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing global awareness, leadership, and critical thinking among young learners.
The three-day conference brought together 183 delegates from seven schools across the country, who participated in rigorous debates and collaborative discussions across nine dynamic committees. Delegates addressed a range of pressing global issues, demonstrating exceptional research, diplomacy, negotiation, and public speaking skills while working towards consensus through constructive dialogue.
A hallmark of AVSMUN is its emphasis on student leadership. The 2026 conference was conceptualised and organised entirely by a dedicated student Secretariat comprising Karan Somani, Pahal Bajaj, Vidhi Bajaj, Bhavya Kejriwal, and Vidhi Chopra. Under the guidance of Ms. Himangana Das, the Secretariat successfully planned and executed the conference, ensuring a rewarding and memorable experience for all participants.
Beyond the committee sessions, AVSMUN provided delegates with valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, develop meaningful friendships, and gain a deeper understanding of global challenges and international cooperation. The conference embodied the ideals of the United Nations by promoting dialogue, mutual respect, and responsible leadership among the next generation of changemakers.
The Assam Valley School congratulates all delegates, Executive Board members, faculty advisors, and the organising team for contributing to the success of the 6th edition of AVSMUN. The conference once again demonstrated the school’s dedication to creating platforms that inspire intellectual curiosity, foster collaboration, and empower students to become thoughtful global citizens.
